Vent had spent the last month or so putting together a Mission for the Guardians; to find and catalogue all the new Biometal that have been appearing in recent times. He'd assigned the most reliable Guardians available to assist with the mission. They were doing the same thing he was doing, which was basically exploring various areas, looking for Biometal (and the people they belonged to.)
The plan for all of them was to use scanners they had to locate the Biometal. All their scanners could detect Biometal within a 100-meter radius of the device. The device could also scan any Biometal, determining its abilities and such, and upload them to a data bank in the Guardians' base.
After delegating locations for the others to explore, Vent thought he would be clever by exploring the junkyard. There'd surely been rumors and hearsay from the cityfolk about those who would come out to the junkyard looking for discarded treasures. Vent had heard about some Biomatches exploring before, so he figured he'd come here to explore. It was a less likely to spot a Biometal than, say, actually within the city.
Vent had already been out here for a couple hours or so, looking around, digging through the trash, turning up nothing. He was taking a break, sitting down on a pile of garbage. He sighed and leaned back. He'd pick it up again in a few more minutes, he said to himself.
