[[August 20th, a small coffee shop, anyone welcome. Kris needs another thread since her other one stalled]] In a small modest coffee shop, Kristine sat at one of the tables, a cup of tea to one side and a small coffee cake to the other, and centered in the middle was a laptop, in which she was reviewing some medical journals and updates on recent technology. She'd be focused on the laptop, shifting in her seat lightly. This was her self given day off, and it reflected as she was dressed in slacks, a blouse, and loafers instead of her normal suit and skirt.

OoC: Cause I'm a troll...
Ic: Benjamin was also getting ready for a rather casual day, especially considering how work hadn't been going well for him these days. No jobs meant no money, and that dingy old apartment didn't do him justice. He deserved so much better, after all. He was a genius, a street smart thug in the scientific world, and his air of confidence- heck even arrogance- could hint that.
His cool blue eyes flitted around the coffeeshop, looking for some prey to devour. Or well... in normal human terms, that is... someone he could seek work with, though in this little coffeeshop, he doubted that. His table was next to Kristine's, but still at a reasonable distance as the man folded his cloak neatly and rested it on his chair.
"Thank you, kind sir. You are most certainly very timely with your work~." As part of his own little attitude, he flicked a couple of Zenny into the man's flustered hands as an extra tip for the day before he sipped on his own coffee. Bleh, tasted bland.

Kristine continued to fiddle with her computer, idly sipping at her tea, when her phone went off. Reaching into her pocket, she'd look at who it was calling and let out a light huff, answering it.
"This had better be good for you to be bothering me on my day off." She said coolly, but it had a threatening undertone. She listened for a few moments. "And you had to call me for this why? I pay you to solve these problems on your own, or do I need to give you a pay cut to encourage you to take some initiative? Reset the server and crunch the numbers manually and see if they line up. If they do, it was a glitch. If they don't, trace it back for any malicious programs skimming off the top. Send an E-mail report to my work terminal and I'll review it when I come back. Now unless we're talking five digets or more here, don't bother me on my day off." With that, she'd close her phone and set it on the table, picking up her drink and downing it, waving the waitress over for a refill.
"Useless..." She'd mutter.

Benjamin sipped his own tea, idly pulling out his tablet to look at the local newspapers, see if anything was up, or maybe there were job openings for his robotics degree. Who knew, they were looking for people to build reploids still. He would pulled back his slick black hair, that is before his eyes traveled to the side as he overheard that conversation with this young lady.
He couldn't help but let out a bit of a chuckle when she made that idle threat and calling the other useless. Honestly, it was a bit of a concern in case there were hackers, but these days hacking was a very delicate process. It's better to hack personal computers than major networks anyway for information.
"Server problems~?"

Kris glanced over at the man sitting at the next table, and for a moment considered not answering. Something about him made him feel a little familiar, though, so he decided to humor him. "Sort of. The bank numbers weren't adding up and that useless supervisor didn't think to reset the server and check for glitches. Probably some foolish employee thinking they could skim off the top and we not notice." She said calmly, picking up her fresh cup of tea as the waitress set it down. "The level of human greed is staggering, as is the lengths people go to."

Well considering he had the same goatee style like Jake, and the fact he had similar color eyes (his was much brighter, almost fake). Granted, he didn't even expect the young female to speak, returning to his tablet, that is before he heard her speak and he tilted his head to look over to her. Might as well converse and actually be social, even though he had no idea what to expect from the woman.
Ben learned to be wary of everybody.
"No surprise, really. You seem like a high rank kind of lady, so I'd expect you seen a lot of it in your life." Benjamin then shut off his tablet to preserve battery life. "I've seen it in my line of work, even if I'm not exactly in the same social or business order."

Kris gave Ben a sidelong look. What an odd thing to say... She decided not to comment on it.
"Well, you've got me curious. What field is it you work in?" She asked, deliberately skipping the bit about her relationship to Xentech.

Jake himself spent the day off as well, but his natural worry for Kristine and his bodyguard sense told him that he should at least keep an eye on her. He'd followed her... somehow as a seven foot manchild... over to that teashop and he just leaned on the glass pane outside, out of sight from everybody else, and watched her. It wasn't until his eyes started to wander towards her boobies that he noticed the man sitting near her as soon as they started chattong.
Jake's mind exploded like a meteor in the sky. That man was way too familiar to a certain one who murdered his mistress and himself. Now that Foxx Inc wasn't around, he felt he had full jurisdiction to chop that man's dick off, rip out his intestines and choke him with them. Which meant he had full jurisdiction to burst in on the tea shop, scatter people who were already familiar with the man, as he stormed over to Benjamin, slugged him across the face and then slam him head into the table.
"You son of a WHORE!"

Ben twisted his cup as he listened to the young lady. There really wasn't much on his side to say, despite his casual looks, interested expression, and such. He knew she was probably a bit wary of him, but hey... maybe he could get a job working for her? As soon as he asked what field he was in, he quickly spoke up without a beat.
"Oh, nothing too big. Robotics and engineering is where I majored in." He spoke up, and then added. "I've had other jobs as well, minor things-" It was then that the door opened. Ben initially didn't pay attention to it, only turning around to find a man over him.. and slugging him in the face.
"What in God's name-" He was then slammed headfirst into the table. Ben could already feel his eye bruising up and was his nose bleeding? "Who the hell are you and how dare you speak of my mother that way!"

Kris let out a small noise, to show she heard and understood Ben, and turned to her cup once more to take a drink. Jake's sudden appearance and hostilities were unexpected, and because of such, when Jake suddenly started yelling about sons and whores, she gave a jarring start that tossed her cup and it's contents-thankfully away from the laptop- onto the table.
She looked in surprise as he attacked the man, and jumped to her feet. "Jake! STAND DOWN! What has gotten INTO you?!" Was he jealous or something?! She was just TALKING to the man and Jake was attacking him like he tried to grope her or something!

Jake could care less if Kristine made guy friends. Just... not to this guy. The man who sent him to his deathbed and forever as a cyborg. He applied pressure to the head of the man as he pretended not to notice anything wrong and Jake just gritted his teeth in fury and... pain. No, he wasn't going to express anything but rage for this man. But those memories... Benjamin hit a hard spot on this man.
Amongst the yelling, he glanced over to Kristine, his expression wavering just slightly. No she didn't know about this man. Of course then Ben had the nerve to charade him about his mother. Yeah whatever.
"I know EXACTLY who you are, Benjamin, you asshole. You are a DEAD man." Jake proceeded to try and pull his fist back-his first mistake-and try and slam it into Benjamin and crush his spine.

Benjamin was rather confused. he had no idea what was going on, who this man was, and what he intended to do. But he could feel his survival instincts kick in and analyze the issue. His head was pinned down, and he could move his arms and legs freely still. Okay. He had many options in this scenario. Good. Jake was a little stupid, using consistent brute force like that, but rage can do that to someone.
"I don't know who you are, or how you know my name, but I don't intend on letting you do that." Jake may have size, but he had weight, and it took Ben's speed to wrap his leg around Jake's, trip the man up, twist around to escape the table and knock the man into a vulnerable position. Ben had to take his chances to grab his gun and put Jake into a chokehold.
"You have six seconds to back off of you black out."

It hit Kris like a bolt. Jake was mistaking this man for someone from his time. A descendant or an unlucky lookalike. Regardless, Jake was making a mistake and she had no idea how to tell him.
Ben's skill in doing in Jake was surprising and a little disconcerting, but Jake was fighting with rage and not with thought, so it wasn't so impossible.
"BOTH OF YOU. KNOCK IT OFF." She snapped at the pair, glaring. "The fuck is wrong with you, Jake?!"

Jake was floored very easily. Considering his own thought process and how Ben was ticking him off, it was no surprise. Either way, he felt his legs cripple underneath him and the crook of the elbow press up against his throat. He felt his throat tightened and he started choking. Either way, he could hear Kristine's voice fading out, apparently yelling at him just as the last minute.
"Eat shit." And then Jake passed out from lack of oxygen and blood to the brain. It took only six seconds to knock this man out. Either way he'll be fine in about 30 seconds as soon as he wakes up. He'll be pissed, but whatever.

Ben stopped moving when the woman told him to knock it off. Okay that was a good idea, now to get Jake to stop becaus ehe knew as soon as he let go that man might try and attack him again. Oh boy. Either way he was going to release pressure on Jake, that is before the man told him off and then passed out. Ben just stared at Jake in surprise.
"... I think we took a little too long." He then let go of Jake and lay him on the floor gently, though with quite some trouble. "Apologies for that. My survival instincts kicked in." He took a deep breath, and then looked at the woman, almost expecting her to explain who this 'Jake' person was. He knew better. He was probably going to get chewed off for knocking out her 'guard.'
