[Date: Feb 14] [Location: Inside the Main Xentech HQ Building] [Characters: Alexandria, Kristine, any others] Cold winter mornings were a thing Alexandria was slowly starting to get used to again...and it only took most of winter to do so. She sighed as she looked around...she was waiting for her guardian, Kristine, before heading into work. It's not like she had to wait, she just wanted to wait. It was polite. As she stood there, hands in the pockets of her pink fuzzy winter jacket which was zipped all the way up to her nose, she recalled the project she was working on currently. No one knew she was working on it, except for Kristine...and even then she didn't know all of the details. It was actually a simple project whenever one looked back at it. The problem was the modifications that needed to be made. But Alexandria was determined to take the last project her father started and see it through to the end...for the better of mankind.

Kristine quickly jogged down the hall, her hair loose around her shoulders as she moved. She came to a stop next to Alex and gave her a smile. "Good morning, Alex." She said. "Ready to go?"
After getting an okay, she'd start to walk next to Alex, her hands tucked in her pockets and a suitcase dangling from her wrist. "How goes your project?" She asked. "Is it going well?" She asked generally, so to anyone listening, she could very well have been asking about a school project or a science fair entry. She knew what that project meant to Alex, even if she was unsure of its precise nature.

She nodded as Kristine asked her question and started inside. She was to tired to actually talk at this hour. So, like always, she grunted with her nod before starting off.
Though as they walked and Kristine asked questions that actually required answers she's mumble up a response. "It's going well, I guess...though I can't seem to get the systems to function right...I think I might be missing something... she'll sigh as they turn the corner and continue walking towards the elevator. Alex will press the button for it and wait as it comes down to their floor.
"You know most of the projects my dad was working on, right? Do you happen to know what this Project C is? The blueprints keep referencing some device that, from the random notes that were written down, seems to be...living metal?"
The door opened and Alexandria stepped aside as a middle aged man stepped out. "Morning Frank." Alex said, stepping into the elevator shortly after.
"I guess, while we're talking about my father and his projects, did he leave any for you to work on?"

"Keep working at it." Kris said encouragingly as they walked. "Why don't you start from the beginning and look over everything. Maybe it's something small that you overlooked?"
"Yes, I know of them." Kristine answered as she waited for the elevator. "I have been studying your father's notes intently for the last several years. It is fascinating. I wish I knew more, if I could actually see this living metal myself."
Kris nodded to the man as she stepped in after Alex, and instead of hitting the floor to their offices, pulled out a key and put it in the control panel, hitting a code to take them to the basement worklabs where a certain 'project' was waiting to be turned on.
As the elevator began to move down, Kris answered Alex. "He left me a few things, mostly mundane projects, but there are a couple gems. Primarily though, my focus has been on your brother." She reached into her pocket and pulled out her cigarette carton, taking one out and lighting it. The wisp of smoke made her think back to the train ride, and that man she had met. Why did he stick out in her memory like that?
She held the burning roll of tobacco in her mouth as the elevator doors opened to the lab and she stepped out, grabbing her labcoat which had most of her smaller and most often used tools in the pockets. Remind you of someone? "Please activate the wake up procedures, make sure everything is in working order before we wake him up. Don't want to have to put him back under because of a faulty wire." Kris stopped by a work\hospital table where a certain sleeping reploid lay. She had rescued him, half dead, and had been working at repairing him since. It was time to wake him back up, and to get him caught up with everything. Maybe he'd know something about Xe's demise? Who knew?
Longest Krispost to date.

Living Metal? Could it have been related to Leon? No...it couldn't.
"Dooo you have to refer to him as my brother?" she sighed and huffed. "At least daddy had the respect to refer to him by his actual name.
But what Alexandria didn't know was that Xe only referred to him by his "real name" whenever she was present.
She walked over to the computer which Uriah was hooked up to and booted it up. It was operational in a matter of seconds and Alexandria began working on making sure everything was ready to go.
...she eyed the OS file, like always. She had yet to be able to crack the code on it. Everything else was an open book to her but that. The strange part, though, was the security on the OS was different than that of the rest of Uriah. Sure, it had taken time to hack into his programing to make the repairs but...something was different. She never told Kris she never made it into the OS because she didn't want her to start doubting her abilities. So instead she just claimed she did and that everything was working fine.
...and everything was working fine. She just didn't know what the OS hid.
...What could you possibly be hiding, dad, that you had to change the security type on the OS...Did Uriah end up fighting against Leon, too? Does his OS explain what his model number, MMK-001 stand for? Were there more of the MMK series? Ugh. Why, dad, why? Why did you change...?
"All systems are good to go...let me know when to flip the switch..."

"But Uriah is your brother." Kris said. She hadn't meant disrespect. She often did call Uriah by his name, but sometimes she just said 'your brother'.
She gently inspected Uriah's body to ensure everything looked right and his joints moved properly. After getting the go ahead from Alex, she ensured that Uriah was securely strapped down. Once he woke up, she didn't want him hopping up and either attacking someone, or pulling at the myriad of wires and tubes. She wanted to disconnect them carefully before Uriah got up and about.
"Begin the start-up protocols." She instructed, standing next to Uriah who lay upon the table. She would be standing over him, so she would be the first thing he'd see when he woke up.
"Uriah, can you hear me?" She asked once he showed signs of waking. "It's me, Kristine. Don't try to move, I have you strapped down. I need to disconnect you from the computer system. Just relax for a moment, get your bearings. You were in pretty sorry shape when I found you."

Darkness. At first there was nothing but darkness.
But then there was light. A small light, a dull light, but after Alexandria had begun the start up there was, indeed, a light.
Uriah had no way of knowing just how long there had been darkness, just that one minute it was there, and the next there was a light.
"Must be my time." he said, chuckling as he walked towards the light. Funny, usually they tell you to stay away from the light, but Uriah knew better. The light was good, and so he went.
That voice, he had heard it before.
He blinked slowly. Once. Twice. A third time. As his eyes began processing again he slowly began to see the figure of Kristine above him. He wasn't freaked out, he didn't struggle. He knew start up procedure. The fact that she had him all tied up was...a bit insulting...but at the same time pointless because if he wanted to he could have broken out without much difficulty.
"Sure took your sweet time, didn't you?" he mumbled as he looked around the room. There he saw Alex, but she was older than he last remembered. Much, much older.
...He couldn't really tell by Kris how much time had past, but judged on how much Alex had grown, it had been at least 4 years since he had last seen her, maybe five? He was leaning towards the first, but it didn't matter.
"How ya' been, 'Lex?" he said with a grin, looking over at Alex.

Alexandria grumbled but didn't say anything.
He's /not/ my brother though is the thing...
She watched the screen as Uriah's systems started up. Everything good so far.
She smiled as she saw his eyes open and went back to the computer, beginning to activate the release on all the cables that were connected to him, he most likely didn't really like that, now that she thought about it. Alex knew she wouldn't.
Alex couldn't help but have a stupid grin on her face as she heard Uriah speak to her. She had missed his voice. And he was the only one brave enough to call her "lex"
"Hello there, knucklehead." she giggled, the biggest and stupidest grin on her face in the history of forever.

Kristine just chuckled as Uriah retorted back. "Well, maybe if you didn't get so messed up." She said playfully as she started to disconnect the wires and tubes. She only strapped him down because she knew he likely went down in mid combat and might be a hair jumpy. She didn't want to get decked by a shell shocked reploid.
She smiled herself as she saw the grin on Alex's face. It always warmed her heart to see Alex smiling like that. Returning to her work, she'd finally unstrap Uriah and help him sit up, immediately going to check his system reactions and reflexes. "Any pain or discomfort?" She asked as she poked and prodded, making sure everything was working as it should.
After making sure everything was in place, she looked to Uriah and smiled warmly. "It's good to have you back, Uriah."

Don't get so messed up?
"..." Uriah was about to say something but then he caught himself. As far as he knew neither Alex nor Kris knew what had happened. It was better that way, so he bit his tongue.
After sitting up he moved his shoulders a bit, flexing his joints. "No, everything seems fine. Systems running at 10% maximum capacity, too."
10%? I used to standby at 20%. Alex must have gotten better.
"Its good to finally be back..." he said softly. Standing up slowly.
"What have I missed while I was asleep?"

"You've missed a bit, Uriah..." Alex frowned. But no need to throw all the unpleasant news at him right away. There would be time for that later. For now Alex shut down the computer that Uriah had been hooked up too as it was no longer needed.
"You remember that one city dad was talking about us moving to one day? The one with Slither Inc. in the center of it? Well, after daddy's death, Kristine brought us here. It wasn't easy getting you here, as heavy as you are.
...not to mention international regulations say that we have to have a reason for taking a combat reploid from our home nation to this one...and...well...we didn't have one. But all turned out well in the end, I suppose.
She smiled and nodded, looking again at Kris to see if there was anything she wanted to add herself.

Kris continued to poke and prod at Uriah as he and Alex talked. Once Kris told Uriah what she wanted, Kris continued. "You're currently in the basement labs of Xentech, the company Alex and I founded together. It's currently February 14, 2521." As she gave this report, she'd offer her arm to help Uriah stand and get his bearings. It had been a while and she had to change out and recalibrate his joints some. It might be a little bit before Uriah would get his sense of balance.
"What's the last thing you remember?"

Uriah took the arm of Kris as he stood, his systems already having calibrated the modifications that Kris had made. "I'm fine, I'm one of the doctor's reploids, after all. Something as trivial as balance isn't an issue to my programming. He smiled though, at the jester that Kris made, he did appreciate her caring about his well being.
"The last thing I recall was...you and Alex. I had just escaped from the doctor's lab after his death. I don't recall seeing Leon as I escaped, did he manage to get out? If so, I should find him." Uriah looked at both Alex and Kris, unaware that Kris didn't know the part that Leon played in the death of Xe.

Alex couldn't help but smile to herself as she saw Uriah stand with ease, even after the changes that Kris made. Now that she thought about it, Alex couldn't remember another time that Kris had the chance to work on a reploid that her father had made. "Leon escaped, I ran into him shortly after we found you. He...apologized for the run-in you two had. We spoke for a short while and then he went on his way."That fateful moment. Alex remembered it like it was yesterday... "...If you had known that Xe was my father would you still...have killed him?" asked a younger Alex, her right hand on the elbow of her left arm as she looked up at him.
"I regret nothing, Alex. I'm sorry that it came down to this...but innocents were on the line. It had to be done. The same for Uriah. If he manages to make it, tell him I apologize for my actions, but I stand by them. You should go, you won't want to be around whenever this place explodes." ...those words...as understanding as she was, Alex still felt some bit of hate towards Leon...and that hate, Alexis, was stirring a bit inside her at Uriah's mention of Leon.

"You're not going to find anyone right now, Uriah." Kris sad sternly. "Just because you feel fine walking around doesn't mean everything is hunky dory. I have absolute faith in Alex and I's abilities, but that is still not excuse for skipping diagnostic tests."
She stopped, wait. What was Uriah saying? Was he with Xe during his final moments? And what did this Leon guy have to do with it? She knew OF Leon, but...
She'd have to talk to Uriah, in private. Away from Alex. If Uriah knew the details of Xe's death, well...that wasn't something his daughter should know, not right now. Not with her mental state...
"But first, why don't we get you something in your system?" She suggested with a perfect expression for the situation, not leading anyone to think of her true motives. "Alex, would you please go upstairs to the lunch room and grab something?"
