Alfonzo will blink at the random should out. But having a Ph.D in 'NO' he figured it was some sort of bizarre way of testing how much strangeness Alfonzo could take. Clever indeed Alex.
"NO!" he'll shout back. But then he'll start laughing for a bit, even going so far as to take a step back due to his laughter, shaking his head. Eventually he'll regain himself though.
"Alright I'm done." He'll nod, going all serious face for a second...but only for a second. He'll start laughing again. Only not as bad. Then he'll calm down again.
"Some people aren't made for fighting. It hurts them. Hell I have my Ph.D in insanity, violence caused mental illnesses, and space rock mining. And what I've learned from those is that insanity is the coolest thing in the world, and fighting isn't for everyone."

Yes, he'll indeed, Josh
She blinks. Did he just yell no back at her?
"Space rock mining? Where do you even use a skill like that? Last I checked we don't have people going into space all to often. She smiles a little, suspecting that he threw that in there in an attempt to make her feel better for how useless she currently felt because of the topic of fighting. It helped...ever so slightly.
"My dad was insane. He ended up dead." That frown.
It just refuses to stay away.

Yes, yes he did just yell no back to her.
"Yup. Space rock mining. Important if you want to go harvest some space rocks. Nice mineral rich ones up there actually, just got to find them. " He'll say in a matter of fact tone.
"Hrm...my dad wasn't insane. He ended up dead too." See the similarities? Sanity doesn't prevent death.
But he had gotten over that, it was in the past. Nothing could be done to get that dad back. Oh well. Press on to the future.

//Heehee~ This man's dad died too, small world, isn't it~? I wonder if he was a victim of dad's madness as well~//
H-Hush Alexis! Don't make jokes like that!
"I'm sorry to hear that..." she said, looking down and frowning. Somehow she felt bad for having brought the subject up.
"What does one do with space rocks, anyway...?" she asked quizzically, tilting her head in the process.
//Maybe Biometal comes from space?//
...I can't tell if you're being serious or not...
//A mix of both.// Alexis retorted, causing Alexandria to sigh softly.

He'll hum. Yeah his dads death hurt him, but life goes on. If it didn't, that would suck.
"Well, life goes on. Dwelling on the past makes it so you don't live in the present so you can get the future you desire....or something like that. Maybe...sure. Thats right."
He'll look around a bit, space rocks huh? He'll have to think for a second.
"Well usually they have the same minerals and materials on them as we have here, just in more plentiful supply. 'Course, sometimes they'll have super rare stuff up there we have little to none of here."
Sounded legit. He said it with such authority nobody could tell whether he really knows or not. And thats how you do things...
Like a Sir.

Don't even get started with this girl and being a Sir, you.
"I suppose you're right...it does go on." she'll smile and nod, looking at him. "I see. That sounds...rather useful. And those materials we don't have here...those could be useful..."
//You know, now that you mention it...Uriah's armor originated from outer space.//
...huh, I guess you're right.
//And his original core was too.//
Right.
"So...how does get to space to mine these space rocks?" she asked, tilting her head as she did.

Alfonzo is a Sir, so your argument is invalid.
"From a literal point of view? Find a meteor or something thats in a safe, stable orbit and put a large industrial size transerver on it. Once thats done, just properly train miners to go up, mine, and return with said materials."
Gosh, its not rocket science or anything. Infact, its not that hard at all.
"Getting to them is the same as getting to the moon, or another planet. Silly."

All the blinking.
"But..." she couldn't find the words to argue. She was dumbfounded that he had explained it that way. Was it practical? Hardly. But, under the right conditions, it would work. And if one couldn't find one in orbit, one could launch something into space to hold it in place which would then allow for a transerver like he said to be placed in position...
...maybe she'd ask Kristine about the possibility of checking into some space mining. She had a feeling if it could lead to a break through in Biometal Research she might go for it...
...Uriah, on the other hand, seemed to have something against space. Maybe for a good reason?
"I...that actually makes sense." she said after a while, her face no longer showing her dumbfound look. "I...might try to get a team together and look into that." she said, nodding.

Alfonzo logic: Because your logic doesn't work.
"Granted thats not the most effective way of space rock mining. Its just the most obvious. Another way, which would cost large amounts more, would be to set up a space colony for mining purposes."
Now why would this be good?
"With a colony like that, it would be the safest way to hop asteroid to asteroid after you drain them of materials."
Alfonzo is also has a Ph.D in business ideas, space colonies, and underwater salmon wrestling.
"There's a bunch of ways to look at it. Depending on how you scout out the space rocks, either strategy could be effective. If you find just a lone asteroid or two, the first method. Obviously if you find a large cluster the colony approach would be better."
He'll give a nod for a second. One cannot argue with Alfonzo. It does not work.

"I see...space colonies...that sounds...interesting. We'll have to look into that...
Space Colonies, totally not foreshadowing to the future of the series, nope.
"So, have you ever been in space?" she asked, still interested in the topic. "Is that were you got the materials to make your Biometal?"
//What makes you think that?//
I'm not sure. she thought to herself, shrugging in the process. Depending on his answer, the conversation could go a couple different ways. She was hoping she could get on the Biometal topic again, but didn't want to just bring it up.

Alfonzo will give a small nod, agreeing with her on the subject. But then he'll get confused. Was he nodding about the going to space or thats where he got his biometal material from? Man so many questions and only one answer....WAIT. He's no cave man. He has words.
"Yes to going to space, no to finding the materials for my biometal in it. If you want that, go look in more ancient structures around the world and in the outlands."
He'll give a nod with some dignity. Trust him, he's a doctor.
"But as for space, I had to go to get my Ph.D in learning in space, spacerock mining, space colonies, and a couple other things. The university gave me a scholarship to do it. Not like they could get anyone to pay those outrageous prices."
Its hard to tell if he's being serious or not. He could be...but yet then again...its Alfonzo.

"I see...so you've been to space then?" she asks, looking hopeful. Maybe this man could be useful for their business?
She wondered if Kristine would get upset if she just up and hired someone...
//That's assuming this guy was willing to be hired. A man with a supposed PhD in everything might not need a job...or he might already have one.//
Yeah but...why would he refuse working at Xentech? We're huge!
//Yeah? And he possibly has a PhD in everything.//
But...
//Just being realistic here.// Her other half said, 'shaking' her 'head' in the process.
Maybe she was being realistic...but it couldn't hurt...besides...no one in Xentech has managed to create a Biometal. Could she pass up this chance to have someone to work with who created a Biometal? No, she couldn't.
"So, you wouldn't happen to need a job, would you?"

Alfonzo will blink at what he was asked. Did he require employment? But first to answer the question asked.
"Yeah, I have."
Well his mind will race. Technically speaking he's employed to his dear friend and fellow biometalist (because biomatch is too mainstream) who shall remain nameless at this time. However some um...temporary work wouldn't be bad. Not to mention it would be a good cover.
"Hrm? A job?"
How to answer this? Maybe he should ask Liebniz or his imaginary laser pigeon for some guidance.
"Depends on the hours. If they aren't too bad I can always pick another job up."
Not that he really needs it, but hey.
"What do you have in mind?" He'll raise an eyebrow. He is curious as to what he's being offered.

Another job? Alexandria couldn't help but wonder if it was full time...
"Um, that's really up to you at this point, I think. I work up at Xentech. We're a rather new company here in this part of the world but we excel in robotics and programming...I'm sure you could manage either or since you have a PhD in...everything."
//At least he says he does.//
"Or, since you're a Mega Man...we could always use help with the security...sometimes I wonder how long it'll take before we're targeted by some other company that just happens to be bigger and stronger than us with Legion on their side..." she shivered slightly as she said that. She constantly feared that something would happen to the company at the worst possible moment. Like whenever Uriah or Jake were busy. That would be what she's afraid of.
